Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in power within the city.
Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the main group to begin their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might seem out of place, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then settled his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a individual motive to depart the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as key figures in the influential clan could assist the team enter locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that control the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.
